The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of
Kay County, Oklahoma, met in regular session at
Chairman Steve Austin called the meeting to
order. Those present were as follows: Dee Schieber, Member; Tyson Rowe, Member; Brian
Hermanson, District Attorney (DA); Carol Purdy, Kay County Assessor; Christy
Kennedy, Kay County Treasurer; Mary Ramey, Kay County Court Clerk; Everette Van
Hoesen, Kay County Sheriff; Jody Burd, Kay County Detention Center Director; Carol
Kellum, Kay County Election Board Secretary; Ray Ball, Kaw Nation; Scott Cloud,
Newkirk Herald; Sharon Rowen, Ponca City News; Tammy Reese, Kay County
Clerk/Secretary (see sign in sheet).
Chairman Austin led the Flag Salute.
Motion was
made by Rowe and seconded by Schieber approving regular meeting minutes of
Jail Issues: Sheriff Van Hoesen introduced Jody Burd, the
newly hired Director for the Kay County Detention Center (KCDC). Van Hoesen made compliments regarding the new
Director.
Jody Burd, KCDC, reported the daily inmate
count of 140. Burd said he has been
holding staffing meetings and stated employees have a positive attitude.
Sheriff Issues: No issues were discussed.
