The Board of County Commissioners of Kay County, Oklahoma, met in special session at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 in the Commissioners Court of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Notice of the meeting was posted for public information on January 20, 2006, at the Courthouse front door, Commissioners Court, and basement handicapped entrance of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.

Chairman Leven called the meeting to order. Those present were as follows: Wayne Leven, Chairman; Laile Wilson, Member; Jacquetta Jenkins, North Central Area Municipal Council-Kay#6; Kent McAninch, Kay County Rural Water District #6; Tammy Reese, County Clerk/Secretary. Member Dee Schieber was absent.

No action was taken on the Public Hearing held to discuss the following: The local unit of government of the Kay County Commissioners, Kay County, Oklahoma is considering applying to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce Community Development Block Grant/ED program for funding assistance on behalf of Kay County Rural Water District #6. A Public Hearing will be held for the purpose of solicitation of wants and needs of the community along with suggestions for the project proposal according to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce guidelines. The project will benefit at least 51% low to moderate income residents.

There being no other business, motion was made by Wilson and seconded by Leven to adjourn. Motion carried: Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.
