Newkirk, Oklahoma

 

The Board of County Commissioners of Kay County, Oklahoma, met in regular session at 9:00 o’clock a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2004, in the Commissioners Court of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  Notice of the meeting was posted for public information on October 1, 2004 at the Courthouse front door, Commissioners Court, and basement handicapped entrance of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.

 

Chairman Schieber called the meeting to order.  Those present were as follows:  Dee Schieber, Chairman; Laile Wilson, Vice-Chairman; Wayne Leven, Member; Rog Allen, KACYFM; Carson Creed; Kristi Woolley, OJA; Marvin Beier, Brawley Engineering; Todd Brawley; Brawley Engineering; Pam Goodno, Kay County Clerk/Secretary; and Carrie Glaser, Deputy County Clerk.

 

Motion was made by Wilson and seconded by Leven approving minutes from the September 27, 2004 meeting.  Motion carried:  Schieber, aye; Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.

 

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson authorizing Chairman to sign Juvenile Detention Transportation Claim in the amount of $179.25.  Motion carried:  Schieber, aye; Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.  (Claim file)

 

Motion was made by Wilson and seconded by Leven approving resolution depositing funds into the CSSP Cash Fund as follows:

Motion was made by Schieber and seconded by Wilson approving resolution depositing funds into the Highway Cash Fund as follows:

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson reviewing and re-approving purchase order #1106 noting the addition of audit notes to said original purchase order.  (Exhibit A)

 

BUDGET WORK SESSION – No action taken.

 

Todd Brawley and Marvin Beier, Brawley Engineering, met with the Board to discuss the annual bridge inspection contract for Kay County.  Mr. Brawley addressed issues relating to the complicated and specialized inspection services provided to Kay County in the past as well as other issues that would play a major part in the decision-making for contracting for said services.  Commissioner Leven stated that Kay County has selected Circuit Engineering District #8 to provide services this year provided they are organized and providing said services but that they would give the issues discussed some thought.
