Newkirk, Oklahoma

 

The Board of County Commissioners of Kay County, Oklahoma, met in regular session at 9:00 o’clock a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2004, in the Commissioners Court of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  Notice of the meeting was posted for public information on September 3, 2004 at the Courthouse front door, Commissioners Court, and basement handicapped entrance of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.

 

Chairman Schieber called the meeting to order.  Those present were as follows:  Dee Schieber, Chairman; Laile Wilson, Vice-Chairman; Wayne Leven, Member; Marvin Beier, Brawley Engineering; and Patsy Leyva, Deputy County Clerk.

 

Motion was made by Wilson and seconded by Leven approving minutes from the August 30, 2004 meeting.  Motion carried:  Schieber, aye; Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.

 

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson authorizing Chairman to sign Election Board Salary Reimbursement Claim in the amount of $3599.23.  Motion carried:  Schieber, aye; Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.  (Claim file)

 

Motion was made by Wilson and seconded by Leven approving following resolutions:

Authorize deposit to General Fund FEMA 2001 account (4, 5-44)

Deposit to Emergency Management Agency Cash Fund-$1612.70 (4, 5-45)

Authorize deposits to the General Fund District Court account - $425.00 (4, 5-46)

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson approving the following cash fund appropriations:

            Preservation Fee Cash fund - $5666.65

            Lien Fee Cash Fund - $1076.50

            Certification Fee Cash Fund - $1190.00

            Reimbursement Cash Fund - $1762.88

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson approving the following Transfers:

Sheriff General – $2500.00 from personal services to part-time

Highway Cash Fund - $20,000.00 from capital outlay to maintenance & operations

Motion was made by Wilson and seconded by Leven approving the following Transfer in the General Fund:

Election Board - $5000.00 from personal services to maintenance & operations

Motion carried:  Schieber, aye; Wilson, aye; Leven, aye. 

 

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson authorizing Chairman to sign 216 Project Agreement between Kay County and NRCS for streambank stabilization at the Deer Creek Bridge in District #3 in the amount of $118,325.00.

Motion was made by Wilson and seconded by Leven approving Engineering Contract between Kay County and Brawley Engineering Corporation for Chikaskia River Bridge on Highway 60 in the amount of $54,000.00
