Newkirk, Oklahoma

 

The Board of County Commissioners of Kay County, Oklahoma, met in regular session at 9:00 o’clock a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2004, in the Commissioners Court of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  Notice of the meeting was posted for public information on March 19, 2004 at the Courthouse front door, Commissioners Court, and basement handicapped entrance of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.

 

Chairman Schieber called the meeting to order.  Those present were as follows:  Dee Schieber, Chairman; Laile Wilson, Vice-Chairman; Wayne Leven, Member; Jacquelynn Schroeder, Ponca City News; Rog Allen, KACY FM; Margy Langley, NODA; Craig Countryman, Sheriff; Scott Pemberton, Deputy Sheriff; Dennis Bonewell, Emergency Management Director; Carson Creed; Pam Goodno, County Clerk and Secretary; and Carrie Glaser, Deputy County Clerk.

 

Motion was made by Wilson and seconded by Leven approving minutes from the March 15, 2004 meeting.  Motion carried:  Schieber, aye; Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.

 

Purchase and/or sale of property for storage – No action.

 

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson approving resolution notifying ODOT of bridge load postings.  Motion carried:  Schieber, aye; Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.  (Resolution #3,4-139)

 

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson approving resolution depositing funds into the Highway Cash Fund as follows:

            AT&T Wireless - $19.25 (ck#7766088)

            AT&T Wireless - $12.72 (ck#7766090)

            Refund on wireless bills-District #1

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson approving resolution depositing funds into the Highway Cash Fund as follows:

Motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson approving resolution adopting Kay County Hazard Mitigation Plan.  Motion carried:  Schieber, aye; Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.  (Resolution #3,4-143)

 

Chairman Schieber turned the meeting over to Vice-Chairman Wilson and excused himself for the remainder of the meeting.

Upon recommendation of Craig Countryman, Sheriff, motion was made by Leven and seconded by Wilson accepting the bid from Dennis Summers for the sale of the 1997 Ford Crown Victoria, per Bid #2004-16 – Selling Used Cars, Sheriff, bid opened 3-22-04.  Motion carried:  Wilson, aye; Leven, aye.  (Bid file)
