The Kay County Excise Board met in special session at 1:00 o’clock p.m. on August 20, 2009, in the Commissioners Court of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Notice of the meeting was posted on August 18, 2009, at the Courthouse front door, Commissioners Court, and basement handicapped entrance of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.

Chairman Harden called the meeting to order. Those present were as follows: J. C. Estes, Vice-Chairman, Joe R. Cary, Member; Tammy Reese, Kay County Clerk/Secretary.

Motion was made by Estes and seconded by Cary granting request on the following Cash Fund Estimate of Needs and Request for Appropriation: Highway Dist#1-$562,933.22, Exhibit A; County Sales Tax-$71,124.00, Exhibit B. Motion carried: Cary, aye; Estes, aye; Harden, aye.

Motion was made by Cary and seconded by Estes approving on the following Officer’s Request for Supplemental Appropriations General Government to Sheriff Account No. GO400 (money from Sales Tax Proceeds) to raise 16 jail positions salaries $2 per hour July 2009 through December 2009-$42,432.00-$42,432.00, Exhibit C. Motion carried: Cary, aye; Estes, aye; Harden, aye.

There being no other business, motion was made by Cary and seconded by Estes to adjourn (1:15 p.m.). Motion carried: Cary, aye; Estes, aye; Harden, aye.
