The Trustees of the Kay County Justice Facilities Authority (JFA) met in special session at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2010, in the Program Room at the Newkirk Public Library, Newkirk, Oklahoma. Notice of the special meeting was posted for public information on August 2, 2010, at the Courthouse front door, Commissioners Court, and basement handicapped entrance of the Kay County Courthouse and on the Newkirk Library front door and Program Room in Newkirk, Oklahoma.

 

Chairman Bruce Robinson called the special meeting to order. Those present were as follows: Trustees Carl Giddens; Norris Frederick; Darrel Grossardt; Gary Martin; Jim Stieber; Everette Van Hoesen, Kay County Sheriff; Wes Young; David Cummings, JFA Attorney; Don Jones, JFA Jail Consultant; Bill and Claude Williams, Taxpayers for Transparency; Scott Cloud, Newkirk Herald Journal; Sharon Rowen, Ponca City News; Tammy Reese, Kay County Clerk/Secretary. Member Laile Wilson, absent. See sign-in sheet.

 

Motion was made by Darrel Grossardt and seconded by Wes Young to enter into Executive Session, pursuant to and convened under authority of Oklahoma Statutes as follows: Title 25 Section 307.B.1, for the purpose of discussing Jail Administrator; Title 25 Section 307.B.4, for the purpose of discussing pending possible litigation. Motion carried.

 

Motion was made by Everette Van Hoesen and seconded by Carl Giddens to reconvene special JFA meeting (6:20 p.m.). Motion carried.

 

No action was taken regarding Jail Administrator.

 

Chairman Robinson said no action will be taken today regarding pending possible litigation.

 

There being no other business, motion was made by Darrel Grossardt and seconded by Gary Martin to adjourn at 6:22 p.m. Motion carried.
