The Kay
County E911 Authority, met in special session at
Chairman
Bowers, called the meeting to order. Those
present are as follows: Chairman Sherry
Bowers, City of Ponca City; Wayne Leven, Vice-Chairman; Laile Wilson, Kay
County Commissioner; Harold Harris, City of Newkirk; Ronnie Freeman, AT&T;
Barbara White, Blackwell Police Department; Everette Van Hoesen; Tom Trueblood,
City of Kaw City; Scott Dark, Tonkawa Police Department; Patsy Leyva, Kay
County Clerk Deputy/Secretary (see sign-in sheet).

from Special Session meeting on
The
appointments of Barbara White, Blackwell Police Department and Tom Trueblood,
Mayor of Kaw City to the Board was accepted.
Leven
advised Board that after discussion with Susan Keen of the Kay County
Assessor’s Office, it is the Assessor’s policy not to give addresses unless
there is a structure being built, but that he felt that a directive from the
Board be given to the Assessor’s office stating that addresses could be given
to vacant lots. Further discussion
stated that it be the responsibility of the owners to put up the address (sign)
after first checking with the Assessor’s office and that no expense should be held with respect
to
Leven
stated that a request for a road name change had been made by Tom Cannon and
that in this case and for future situations it would be the policy that if a
new plat is recorded that the name can then be given and at the owners expense
for the sign and the plat preparation.
Motion made by Harris and seconded by Trueblood adopting this
policy. Motion carried.
